Nayland Blake Born in New York City in 1960, Blake attended Bard College and then California Institute of the Arts. After receiving a Master of Fine Arts, they moved to San Francisco in 1984. They have had one-person exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; University of California Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; and the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College. In 2017, they curated Tag, Propositions on Queer Play and the Way Forward at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.
