Join artist Marcos Ramirez ERRE for an intimate Point-of-View Tour of Martín Ramírez: His Life in Pictures, Another Interpretation. ERRE will draw on his experience as a Mexican-American artist to shed new light on how the work of Martín Ramírez reflects a complex transnational identity. The event will be held in Spanish, with live English translation.
Marcos Ramirez ERRE immigrated to the United States from Tijuana in 1983, and worked in construction for the next seventeen years. In 1989, while still working construction, ERRE became an active artist, creating politically-oriented artworks concerning Mexican-American relations and identity. Since then, he has participated in residencies, lectures, and exhibitions, including the Whitney Biennial 2000, the second Moscow Biennial, and the San Juan Poly/Graphic Triennial. ERRE is a recipient of the United States Artist fellowship, and in 2009 became a member of Mexico’s National System for Art Creators.
