Days Presents
Queer Magic: Herbs + Essences for Gender Expansiveness

November 23, 2019
1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Workshops

Join Jade of 69herbs and Rachel of Snakeroot Apothecary to dive into herbs, flower, and stone essences for gender expansiveness, play, and magic, responding to the emergent themes currently being explored at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (ICA LA).

With an open hour for questions, all are welcome at Play Days: Wrong Edition at the ICA LA to discuss with Jade and Rachel and purchase their tinctures and tonics.

In the ticketed workshop, participants will discuss plants & essences that are supportive for grounding through dissociation and dysphoria, gender play and trans magic, protection, and helpful for calling us back into our bodies. Plants in the exploration include Ghost Pipe, Saguaro, Rose, & Mugwort.

All workshop participants will take home a specialized alcohol-free preparation with some of these herbs.

Meet and Greet with Jade and Rachel 1:30-2:30: free and open to all!

Workshop 3-4:30pm: $30, ticketed & limited to 12 participants

RSVP & purchase a workshop ticket here!

Jade Marks is an herbalist, farmer, and artist based in New York City. They run an apothecary called 69herbs, which centers trans and queer people, accessibility, and design.

Rachel Burgos is an herbalist in Los Angeles who works clinically to provide preventative health care and education using plant, animal & earth & elemental medicines in a holistic way.

Days is an experimental retailer that curates independent projects around a conceptual theme, hosts thoughtful events, and provides support & feedback to participating makers currently open at the ICA LA as Play Days: Wrong Edition.
