Founded in 2004 in Chinatown Los Angeles by Wendy Yao, Ooga Booga is a beloved artist-driven concept shop specializing in independent art, books, music, and clothing. In its 20-year history, the shop grew to two LA locations and was the site to discover performances, film screenings, readings, workshops, unique editions, all types of publications, and a wonderful artistic community.

For the duration of the exhibition Scratching at the Moon, Ooga Booga will take residence in ICA LA’s bookshelves and have an evolving three-part project in the Annex that invites longtime store collaborators Kima, Maggie Lee, and Misa Chhan to exhibit their artwork, editions, films, artist books, prints and clothing in the space.
