With pauses on federal food assistance, supporting local food banks is more important than ever. Food banks accept most canned and dry goods, but it’s best to contact your local food bank first to learn what items are most needed.
The following is a list of items typically accepted by most food banks:
- Jarred nut butters
- Canned soup
- Canned fruit
- Canned vegetables
- Tinned fish
- Canned beans
- Pasta (preferably whole grain)
- Rice (preferably brown rice)
